155
00:10:36,720 --> 00:10:40,079

156
00:10:44,839 --> 00:10:47,839
forget

157
00:10:49,519 --> 00:10:52,800
would it be too much trouble to ask for

158
00:10:50,959 --> 00:10:54,000
some tea someone's fell in here

159
00:10:52,800 --> 00:10:55,760
but you'll have to wait till i get this

160
00:10:54,000 --> 00:10:57,120

166
00:11:03,279 --> 00:11:06,240
say the fleet is i have a job there's a

167
00:11:04,800 --> 00:11:08,000
school mistress it's four o'clock

168
00:11:06,240 --> 00:11:09,680
my train leaves a fire it's very strange

169
00:11:08,000 --> 00:11:11,360
about sandy ross being late

170
00:11:09,680 --> 00:11:13,279
i've always been able to set my clock by

171
00:11:11,360 --> 00:11:14,079
him thank you ross ah he's the carrier

172
00:11:13,279 --> 00:11:15,760
have you seen him

173
00:11:14,079 --> 00:11:17,279
well we saw an old car with the name

174
00:11:15,760 --> 00:11:18,000
alexander ross on it it seemed to have

175
00:11:17,279 --> 00:11:21,120
broken down

176
00:11:18,000 --> 00:11:22,240
real about five miles back land sinks

177
00:11:21,120 --> 00:11:23,680
well would it matter very much if you

178
00:11:22,240 --> 00:11:25,040
caught a later trade terribly i've got

179
00:11:23,680 --> 00:11:26,240
to catch the vote to storm ness it

180
00:11:25,040 --> 00:11:28,240
wouldn't mean losing a whole day

181
00:11:26,240 --> 00:11:29,839
maggie run for mr mcleod we'll have to

182
00:11:28,240 --> 00:11:31,680
borrow the house no wait

183
00:11:29,839 --> 00:11:33,519
wait a moment i think i can run you to

184
00:11:31,680 --> 00:11:34,959
the station oh that'll be lovely

185
00:11:33,519 --> 00:11:36,320
really about your team oh that doesn't

186
00:11:34,959 --> 00:11:37,839
matter it's set under the hand of

187
00:11:36,320 --> 00:11:38,800
providence that brought you here today

188
00:11:37,839 --> 00:11:41,120
come along

189
00:11:38,800 --> 00:11:42,880

190
00:11:41,120 --> 00:11:45,040
we're taking this young lady to dingwall

191
00:11:42,880 --> 00:11:46,959
be sure to keep warm dearly she's a

192
00:11:45,040 --> 00:11:48,640
terror for taking calls

193
00:11:46,959 --> 00:11:50,560
if ever there was a buddy a blessing in

194
00:11:48,640 --> 00:11:52,480
disguise it's yourself i'll take to your

195
00:11:50,560 --> 00:11:54,639
passport now and don't forget to wear

196
00:11:52,480 --> 00:11:57,839
your woolies it's terrible cold up there

197
00:11:54,639 --> 00:11:57,839
take care

198
00:11:58,700 --> 00:12:01,779
[Music]

199
00:12:06,720 --> 00:12:10,079
never thought of you as a school teacher

200
00:12:08,959 --> 00:12:12,000
but i am

201
00:12:10,079 --> 00:12:14,160
i was educated at bristol university i

202
00:12:12,000 --> 00:12:15,680
got my degree there live again

203
00:12:14,160 --> 00:12:17,920
i had to do something after mother

204
00:12:15,680 --> 00:12:19,440
father died no money

205
00:12:17,920 --> 00:12:21,519
what was your father well he was an

206
00:12:19,440 --> 00:12:23,040
architect but not very lucky he only had

207
00:12:21,519 --> 00:12:24,720
one good job that i remember public

208
00:12:23,040 --> 00:12:27,360
house in chester and he didn't like that

209
00:12:24,720 --> 00:12:30,079
very much because he was a teetotaler

210
00:12:27,360 --> 00:12:31,200
you lived at chester yes in pubmed

211
00:12:30,079 --> 00:12:32,320
street

212
00:12:31,200 --> 00:12:34,399
and this place that you're going to the

213
00:12:32,320 --> 00:12:34,800
opening islands have you any friends

214
00:12:34,399 --> 00:12:36,959
there

215
00:12:34,800 --> 00:12:38,240
not a soul or if john can get away he's

216
00:12:36,959 --> 00:12:40,959
coming over to see me

217
00:12:38,240 --> 00:12:44,240
who's john my fiance would you like to

218
00:12:40,959 --> 00:12:44,240
see his photograph very much

219
00:12:45,040 --> 00:12:49,440
yes she's quite good looking uh but

220
00:12:48,320 --> 00:12:50,639
these orkney islands

221
00:12:49,440 --> 00:12:52,639
i thought it was quite impossible for

222
00:12:50,639 --> 00:12:54,000
civilians to go there in wartime it is

223
00:12:52,639 --> 00:12:54,959
there was a terrible first getting my

224
00:12:54,000 --> 00:12:58,800
passport

225
00:12:54,959 --> 00:13:03,120
but you've got it oh yes here it is

226
00:12:58,800 --> 00:13:03,120
it's complete with photograph isn't it

227
00:13:04,839 --> 00:13:08,000
terrible

228
00:13:06,480 --> 00:13:09,440
as well passport photographs are never

229
00:13:08,000 --> 00:13:10,800
very flattering haven't you taken the

230
00:13:09,440 --> 00:13:12,160
wrong road

231
00:13:10,800 --> 00:13:14,079
this is the road to dingle isn't it

232
00:13:12,160 --> 00:13:15,680
edwards yes ma'am it's probably only a

233
00:13:14,079 --> 00:13:17,360
shortcut

234
00:13:15,680 --> 00:13:18,959
i'm quite sure you're not cold oh no

235
00:13:17,360 --> 00:13:20,320
really i love this remember what your

236
00:13:18,959 --> 00:13:21,839
own nurse said

237
00:13:20,320 --> 00:13:24,320
edwards give miss burnett the shetland

238
00:13:21,839 --> 00:13:24,320

239
00:13:29,360 --> 00:13:35,839
really i don't want it i'm not at all

240
00:13:31,120 --> 00:13:35,839
cold now you mustn't catch cold

241
00:13:39,500 --> 00:13:53,710
[Music]

242
00:13:55,220 --> 00:13:58,700

243
00:13:55,410 --> 00:13:58,700
[Music]

244
00:14:00,839 --> 00:14:05,740

[Music]

248
00:14:28,839 --> 00:14:35,210

249
00:14:30,860 --> 00:14:37,600
[Music]

250
00:14:35,210 --> 00:14:41,729

254
00:14:51,600 --> 00:14:59,839

welcome to longhorn we were thinking

307
00:17:45,679 --> 00:17:48,559
maybe

308
00:17:46,400 --> 00:17:50,080
you might prefer a room at the men's to

309
00:17:48,559 --> 00:17:51,440
living a way up at the school house well

310
00:17:50,080 --> 00:17:53,200
that's very kind of it but you see

311
00:17:51,440 --> 00:17:54,880
my wife agrees with me that it would be

312
00:17:53,200 --> 00:17:56,480
highly improper for so young a girl to

313
00:17:54,880 --> 00:17:58,840
be on her own i'm accustomed to looking

314
00:17:56,480 --> 00:18:00,160

316
00:18:00,160 --> 00:18:03,360
you'd find her charge is very reasonable

317
00:18:02,400 --> 00:18:04,960
i'm sure of that

318
00:18:03,360 --> 00:18:07,360
should we discuss it some other time

319
00:18:04,960 --> 00:18:07,360

00:24:27,930 --> 00:24:47,840
[Music]

383

about me

396
00:25:22,720 --> 00:25:26,480

397
00:25:24,240 --> 00:25:27,520

398
00:25:26,480 --> 00:25:43,840

[Music]

413
00:27:18,799 --> 00:27:21,039
what's

414
00:27:21,890 --> 00:27:32,239
[Music]

415
00:27:32,840 --> 00:27:35,840

418
00:27:54,370 --> 00:28:01,589
[Music]

419
00:27:57,040 --> 00:28:01,589
[Applause]

420
00:28:03,200 --> 00:28:06,159

00:28:35,360 --> 00:28:40,399
native hmm i shouldn't get very far

430
00:28:37,200 --> 00:28:43,039
without it i'm a new school teacher

431
00:28:40,399 --> 00:28:43,760
my name is ann burnett please call me by

432
00:28:43,039 --> 00:28:46,640

i am to be shot it will be as an officer

436
00:28:53,520 --> 00:28:59,840
not as a spy being a civilian i have no

437
00:28:57,120 --> 00:28:59,840
such defenses

438
00:28:59,919 --> 00:29:04,559
hmm i beg your pardon

439
00:29:05,120 --> 00:29:12,559

00:29:12,559 --> 00:29:27,840
these english are a long time feeling

442
00:29:14,480 --> 00:29:27,840
the pinch

443
00:29:32,240 --> 00:29:36,080
i had no idea secret agents was such a

444
00:29:34,480 --> 00:29:39,200
comfortable profession

445
00:29:36,080 --> 00:29:40,000
it has its uncomfortable moments talking

446
00:29:39,200 --> 00:29:42,159
of uncomfortable

447
00:29:40,000 --> 00:29:43,440
moments school opens the day after

448
00:29:42,159 --> 00:29:47,520
tomorrow

449
00:29:43,440 --> 00:29:47,520
i wonder how i shall get on so do i

450
00:29:50,559 --> 00:29:55,440

451
00:29:52,080 --> 00:29:58,159

452
00:29:55,440 --> 00:29:59,600

i haven't yet been told what i have to

455
00:30:00,960 --> 00:30:04,720
do here you'll be told tomorrow

456
00:30:05,840 --> 00:30:12,559
not tomorrow now

457
00:30:09,760 --> 00:30:12,559
what are your orders

458
00:30:15,120 --> 00:30:19,120
i beg your pardon your orders captain

459
00:30:17,600 --> 00:30:21,919
heart

460
00:30:19,120 --> 00:30:24,240
to the port for duty to volunteer to

461
00:30:21,919 --> 00:30:27,840
obey all her orders exactly

462
00:30:24,240 --> 00:30:27,840
now pick up your motorbike and go to bed

463
00:30:32,159 --> 00:30:35,679
do i take you to bed with me suit

464
00:30:33,679 --> 00:30:37,840
yourself there's a nice parking base by

465
00:30:35,679 --> 00:30:37,840
the watch

466
00:30:48,840 --> 00:30:51,840
then

467
00:30:54,960 --> 00:30:57,520
good night

468
00:31:00,720 --> 00:31:06,159
hey hey hey why are you locking me in

469
00:31:04,720 --> 00:31:08,799
a woman comes to clean the house in the

470
00:31:06,159 --> 00:31:19,840
mornings i can lock my own door

471
00:31:08,799 --> 00:31:19,840
i think this is safer

472
00:31:28,480 --> 00:31:35,120
yeah come in come in

473
00:31:32,480 --> 00:31:36,480
good morning good morning your breakfast

474
00:31:35,120 --> 00:31:37,760
is in my room there's a beautiful view

475
00:31:36,480 --> 00:31:39,360
from the window

476
00:31:37,760 --> 00:31:40,559
listen miss danette i didn't come here

477
00:31:39,360 --> 00:31:43,919
for a holiday i have more important

478
00:31:40,559 --> 00:31:43,919
things to do than to admire the view

479
00:31:44,880 --> 00:32:01,840
oh much

480
00:32:34,880 --> 00:32:44,000
well the plan to sing 15 of those

481
00:32:38,880 --> 00:32:46,640
capital ships how

482
00:32:44,000 --> 00:32:46,640
he'll tell you

483
00:32:51,760 --> 00:32:56,559
who is he british naval officer with a

484
00:32:54,880 --> 00:32:58,640
grudge against the service

485
00:32:56,559 --> 00:33:00,159
he was in command of a destroyer but a

486
00:32:58,640 --> 00:33:03,679
year ago he lost it in a collision

487
00:33:00,159 --> 00:33:06,080
oh a wrong order he'd been drinking

488
00:33:03,679 --> 00:33:08,559
a traitor and a drunkard quite an

489
00:33:06,080 --> 00:33:12,399
ornament for the british navy

490
00:33:08,559 --> 00:33:15,679
where did this happen of cyprus

491
00:33:12,399 --> 00:33:18,320
hms connaught february 16.

492
00:33:15,679 --> 00:33:19,840
then you know of course commander ashing

493
00:33:18,320 --> 00:33:22,720
lieutenant dashington

494
00:33:19,840 --> 00:33:24,399
he was dismissed a ship where did you

495
00:33:22,720 --> 00:33:27,279
meet him

496
00:33:24,399 --> 00:33:28,799
at least a month ago and found that he

497
00:33:27,279 --> 00:33:32,320
had a price

498
00:33:28,799 --> 00:33:36,960
rather a high one paid by whom

499
00:33:32,320 --> 00:33:39,840
germany only by germany

500
00:33:36,960 --> 00:33:39,840
and me

501
00:33:40,159 --> 00:33:46,399
well i suppose you should have to meet

502
00:33:43,600 --> 00:33:46,399
come down in a minute

503
00:33:48,640 --> 00:33:55,120
captain hat

504
00:33:53,519 --> 00:33:57,760
suppose the rest of us sit down get

505
00:33:55,120 --> 00:33:57,760
acquainted

506
00:33:58,399 --> 00:34:02,080
give him a drink loosen him up a bit i

507
00:34:00,320 --> 00:34:03,600
would rather get to business

508
00:34:02,080 --> 00:34:05,679
drink when you can in this job that's my

509
00:34:03,600 --> 00:34:07,279
motto

510
00:34:05,679 --> 00:34:09,760
maybe confine our thoughts to the work

511
00:34:07,279 --> 00:34:09,760
before us

512
00:34:11,679 --> 00:34:15,359
all i like you germans one track minds

513
00:34:14,240 --> 00:34:19,599
draw the curtains

514
00:34:15,359 --> 00:34:21,200
get the charts and them let's go

515
00:34:19,599 --> 00:34:22,480
here we are in a nutshell for three

516
00:34:21,200 --> 00:34:24,560
years we've had your feet sitting on

517
00:34:22,480 --> 00:34:25,760
their bottoms in key we met at chetland

518
00:34:24,560 --> 00:34:27,359
that's why you haven't put your noses

519
00:34:25,760 --> 00:34:28,800
out since do you mean to say that right

520
00:34:27,359 --> 00:34:30,480
all right we both won

521
00:34:28,800 --> 00:34:31,919
the point is that with the channel fleet

522
00:34:30,480 --> 00:34:34,079
sitting on your doorstep and the grand

523
00:34:31,919 --> 00:34:34,639
fleet here in scarpa watching every move

524
00:34:34,079 --> 00:34:35,839
you make

525
00:34:34,639 --> 00:34:37,599
you're having a chance of getting into

526
00:34:35,839 --> 00:34:38,320
the irish channel and starting i know

527
00:34:37,599 --> 00:34:42,240
that

528
00:34:38,320 --> 00:34:44,159
what's your plan um

529
00:34:42,240 --> 00:34:46,159
two cruiser squadrons will shortly be

530
00:34:44,159 --> 00:34:48,639
sailing on a sweep down to the southern

531
00:34:46,159 --> 00:34:50,320
southwest i know that too it's part of

532
00:34:48,639 --> 00:34:52,079
the routine

533
00:34:50,320 --> 00:34:53,919
but wouldn't you give your eye teeth to

534
00:34:52,079 --> 00:34:56,079
know just when and where

535
00:34:53,919 --> 00:34:57,680
and how you hear that everything but the

536
00:34:56,079 --> 00:34:58,800
actual time is sailing and i'll get you

537
00:34:57,680 --> 00:35:01,119
there don't worry

538
00:34:58,800 --> 00:35:03,839
but squirrels first and fifth and the

539
00:35:01,119 --> 00:35:03,839
cost

540
00:35:05,599 --> 00:35:12,320
here it is a pencil line east of swerner

541
00:35:09,599 --> 00:35:13,680
then if our submarines round the roof in

542
00:35:12,320 --> 00:35:17,280
sandwich bay

543
00:35:13,680 --> 00:35:20,800
in sandvik bay

544
00:35:17,280 --> 00:35:22,240
we could beg the lot exactly

545
00:35:20,800 --> 00:35:23,839
actually they may alter the course at

546
00:35:22,240 --> 00:35:24,480
the last moment but i shall find out if

547
00:35:23,839 --> 00:35:27,599
they do

548
00:35:24,480 --> 00:35:29,760
from whom my brother his flag captain

549
00:35:27,599 --> 00:35:32,560
he too great scot no it's a case of

550
00:35:29,760 --> 00:35:32,560
brotherly trust

551
00:35:34,320 --> 00:35:40,240
when will this movement take place

552
00:35:37,680 --> 00:35:41,200
tomorrow next day anytime but you'll get

553
00:35:40,240 --> 00:35:43,200
plenty of notice

554
00:35:41,200 --> 00:35:44,880
we can't take submarines of blockade

555
00:35:43,200 --> 00:35:47,040
duty and supposition

556
00:35:44,880 --> 00:35:48,079
opposition nothing those squadrons are

557
00:35:47,040 --> 00:35:51,359
going to sail

558
00:35:48,079 --> 00:35:54,320
the date i'll get it

559
00:35:51,359 --> 00:35:56,000
it would be the biggest smash of the war

560
00:35:54,320 --> 00:36:01,040
then uh

561
00:35:56,000 --> 00:36:01,040
they understand each other i hope so

562
00:36:02,320 --> 00:36:06,800
to our next meeting your next meeting

563
00:36:11,680 --> 00:36:14,960
mind you will behave yourself

564
00:36:15,200 --> 00:36:19,040
mister what is your ship the old horse

565
00:36:18,640 --> 00:36:20,720
bag

566
00:36:19,040 --> 00:36:23,280
i imagine she will not be going to the

567
00:36:20,720 --> 00:36:24,839
squadron she's laid up for repairs as

568
00:36:23,280 --> 00:36:27,839
usual

569
00:36:24,839 --> 00:36:27,839
pity

570
00:36:28,960 --> 00:36:32,640
you see children when we look at this

571
00:36:30,880 --> 00:36:34,320
little island of ours and realize

572
00:36:32,640 --> 00:36:35,680
that she is the parent and protector of

573
00:36:34,320 --> 00:36:38,079
countries and continents a hundred

574
00:36:35,680 --> 00:36:39,760
thousand times greater than herself

575
00:36:38,079 --> 00:36:41,280
i know you don't like it it isn't

576
00:36:39,760 --> 00:36:42,960
intended for a german audience

577
00:36:41,280 --> 00:36:45,280
you almost persuade me to become a

578
00:36:42,960 --> 00:36:47,200
british subject what do i say next

579
00:36:45,280 --> 00:36:50,480
there's always that bit about an empire

580
00:36:47,200 --> 00:36:50,480
on which the sun never sets

581
00:36:51,280 --> 00:36:58,240
but it needs explaining big does it go

582
00:36:55,200 --> 00:36:59,040
east to west or west to east well it

583
00:36:58,240 --> 00:37:02,160
worries me

584
00:36:59,040 --> 00:37:02,160
i bet the children will know

585
00:37:03,280 --> 00:37:09,280
i shouldn't worry you can teach them far

586
00:37:06,320 --> 00:37:12,079
more important things how to get onto an

587
00:37:09,280 --> 00:37:14,800
island guarded like gibraltar

588
00:37:12,079 --> 00:37:16,079
how to twist the british and the german

589
00:37:14,800 --> 00:37:18,880
naval officer

590
00:37:16,079 --> 00:37:20,480
found your little finger and a lot of

591
00:37:18,880 --> 00:37:22,400
other things

592
00:37:20,480 --> 00:37:23,599
never learnt in school doesn't all this

593
00:37:22,400 --> 00:37:25,440
belong to an evening school for

594
00:37:23,599 --> 00:37:29,119
grown-ups

595
00:37:25,440 --> 00:37:36,800
it is evening and i am grown up

596
00:37:29,119 --> 00:37:38,720
but you're not one of my pupils

597
00:37:36,800 --> 00:37:40,400
tell me what became a philly miss

598
00:37:38,720 --> 00:37:41,920
bennett

599
00:37:40,400 --> 00:37:44,640
you know the story of little red riding

600
00:37:41,920 --> 00:37:51,839
hood it had a happy ending

601
00:37:44,640 --> 00:37:51,839
that's where her story is different

602
00:37:53,599 --> 00:38:00,079
she met with an accident yes an accident

603
00:37:56,880 --> 00:38:01,680
where are you present i bay orders in my

604
00:38:00,079 --> 00:38:05,280
service

605
00:38:01,680 --> 00:38:06,320
what a have you ever found a torpedo at

606
00:38:05,280 --> 00:38:10,000
an unarmed ship

607
00:38:06,320 --> 00:38:10,000
that's different it's certainly more

608
00:38:16,839 --> 00:38:19,839
wholesale

609
00:38:20,320 --> 00:38:24,240
what why did you to look down on me i

610
00:38:22,320 --> 00:38:25,359
made my orders as you'll bear yours

611
00:38:24,240 --> 00:38:27,040
we don't choose the jobs that have given

612
00:38:25,359 --> 00:38:28,400
us all the means of carrying them out

613
00:38:27,040 --> 00:38:30,000
you and i are only parts of a machine

614
00:38:28,400 --> 00:38:33,839
for destruction

615
00:38:30,000 --> 00:38:33,839
like it or not

616
00:38:35,760 --> 00:38:47,839
where's the key here

617
00:39:00,230 --> 00:39:03,369
[Music]

618
00:39:34,690 --> 00:39:40,780
[Music]

619
00:39:37,690 --> 00:39:40,780
[Applause]

620
00:39:40,839 --> 00:39:46,770
oh

621
00:39:42,450 --> 00:39:46,770
[Music]

622
00:39:49,660 --> 00:39:57,839
[Music]

623
00:39:54,839 --> 00:39:57,839
me

624
00:39:59,200 --> 00:40:11,839
thank you children that was very nice

625
00:40:00,640 --> 00:40:11,839
now you made

626
00:40:12,800 --> 00:40:25,839
i'm a blanched you good day good day

627
00:40:35,010 --> 00:40:39,839
[Applause]

628
00:40:36,839 --> 00:40:39,839
so

629
00:40:42,640 --> 00:40:46,160
any news um i got it they say all

630
00:40:45,599 --> 00:40:49,440
tomorrow

631
00:40:46,160 --> 00:40:50,480
what time 10 am no changes no changes

632
00:40:49,440 --> 00:40:52,079
you'll get in touch with your ship

633
00:40:50,480 --> 00:40:53,680
tonight you'll be ready to leave at 10

634
00:40:52,079 --> 00:40:56,800
o'clock tonight of course

635
00:40:53,680 --> 00:41:00,120
look at that yeah what is all this

636
00:40:56,800 --> 00:41:03,320
so that leaves with me

637
00:41:00,120 --> 00:41:03,320
[Applause]

638
00:41:05,520 --> 00:41:09,119
this is the reverend hector matthews is

639
00:41:07,599 --> 00:41:11,040
it i mean how do you do

640
00:41:09,119 --> 00:41:12,720
i'm sorry i can't shake hands uh my

641
00:41:11,040 --> 00:41:13,200
name's john harris i'm looking for the

642
00:41:12,720 --> 00:41:14,880
school

643
00:41:13,200 --> 00:41:16,800
for what purpose me i asked to see my

644
00:41:14,880 --> 00:41:18,240
fiance miss burnett this burnett did not

645
00:41:16,800 --> 00:41:19,839
tell me that she had any connection with

646
00:41:18,240 --> 00:41:20,560
the english character nobody soon will

647
00:41:19,839 --> 00:41:23,280
have

648
00:41:20,560 --> 00:41:24,640
ah well if you're making a say on the

649
00:41:23,280 --> 00:41:26,480
island we might get you have a room at

650
00:41:24,640 --> 00:41:28,000
the mans but be far cheaper than lodging

651
00:41:26,480 --> 00:41:29,520
at the post office what is

652
00:41:28,000 --> 00:41:31,200
i mean that's very kind maybe you'd

653
00:41:29,520 --> 00:41:32,400
bring your fiance to take dinner with us

654
00:41:31,200 --> 00:41:34,800
tonight will i

655
00:41:32,400 --> 00:41:36,480
if you give me your meat coupons mrs

656
00:41:34,800 --> 00:41:37,920
matthews might manage a roast well

657
00:41:36,480 --> 00:41:41,200
they're in my inside pocket and i'm

658
00:41:37,920 --> 00:41:41,200
rather cluttered up hello me

659
00:41:41,630 --> 00:41:46,480
[Applause]

660
00:41:43,200 --> 00:41:46,480
at seven cartesia

661
00:41:47,599 --> 00:41:50,640
i'm not sure you wanted to remain but

662
00:41:49,119 --> 00:41:52,960
who cares what i want don't you see

663
00:41:50,640 --> 00:41:53,920
i only see one thing my orders where are

664
00:41:52,960 --> 00:41:56,240
they

665
00:41:53,920 --> 00:41:57,599
here what do you mean here what were the

666
00:41:56,240 --> 00:41:59,280
actual orders

667
00:41:57,599 --> 00:42:00,560
on completion of the mission you're

668
00:41:59,280 --> 00:42:01,440
going to be taking on board on

669
00:42:00,560 --> 00:42:05,440
completion

670
00:42:01,440 --> 00:42:07,359
yes on completion and is it completed

671
00:42:05,440 --> 00:42:17,040
until your submarines come up with our

672
00:42:07,359 --> 00:42:19,040
squadrons the job's only been begun

673
00:42:17,040 --> 00:42:21,520
i think he's right it's not another way

674
00:42:19,040 --> 00:42:24,800
of looking at it

675
00:42:21,520 --> 00:42:26,240
hmm i shall deliver the message and tell

676
00:42:24,800 --> 00:42:27,280
shoes that you report tomorrow night for

677
00:42:26,240 --> 00:42:31,839
both of us

678
00:42:27,280 --> 00:42:31,839
now you're talking sense

679
00:42:36,240 --> 00:42:41,119
oh oh i'm most awfully sorry though

680
00:42:39,040 --> 00:42:44,000
there must be another room

681
00:42:41,119 --> 00:42:45,599
come on in oh thank you i didn't expect

682
00:42:44,000 --> 00:42:46,720
to find officers ability here but

683
00:42:45,599 --> 00:42:48,720
i suppose it's difficult to find

684
00:42:46,720 --> 00:42:49,680
accommodation for everyone right we were

685
00:42:48,720 --> 00:42:51,280
just gonna have tea

686
00:42:49,680 --> 00:42:52,720
you must join us oh no really thank you

687
00:42:51,280 --> 00:42:54,560
so very much as a matter of fact i came

688
00:42:52,720 --> 00:42:56,640
to find my fiance miss burnett

689
00:42:54,560 --> 00:42:58,079
is she here milk and sugar oh it's very

690
00:42:56,640 --> 00:43:00,079
kind of you yeah let me take that

691
00:42:58,079 --> 00:43:02,880
oh it's more than kind of it was rather

692
00:43:00,079 --> 00:43:02,880
heavy oh

693
00:43:03,040 --> 00:43:08,960
oh how do you do it thank you

694
00:43:07,440 --> 00:43:10,640
would seem rather strange me not letting

695
00:43:08,960 --> 00:43:14,560
her know that i've arrived

696
00:43:10,640 --> 00:43:14,560
wouldn't it your teeth thank you

697
00:43:17,280 --> 00:43:20,560
well if you don't mind i think i'll give

698
00:43:18,720 --> 00:43:23,200
her a shout i have a strong aversion

699
00:43:20,560 --> 00:43:27,839
against shouting in fact all of us have

700
00:43:23,200 --> 00:43:29,200
oh oh well in that case

701
00:43:27,839 --> 00:43:31,440
she'll get quite a surprise when she

702
00:43:29,200 --> 00:43:35,680
comes down and finds that i'm here

703
00:43:31,440 --> 00:43:35,680
won't she some cake no thank you

704
00:43:35,760 --> 00:43:41,839
i brought her this gramophone tour a

705
00:43:38,400 --> 00:43:41,839
whole heap of new record

706
00:43:43,200 --> 00:43:46,800
have you heard the soldiers march

707
00:43:47,200 --> 00:43:55,839
it is rather a large trumpet but it's

708
00:43:49,040 --> 00:43:55,839
got a beautiful tone

709
00:44:02,240 --> 00:44:11,440
t t

710
00:44:08,800 --> 00:44:13,839
i say that middle ribbon i don't seem to

711
00:44:11,440 --> 00:44:17,119
recognize it but what is it

712
00:44:13,839 --> 00:44:20,480
the iron cross second class

713
00:44:17,119 --> 00:44:21,599
second class then you must be a prisoner

714
00:44:20,480 --> 00:44:25,760
of war

715
00:44:21,599 --> 00:44:28,319
no you are

716
00:44:25,760 --> 00:44:28,319
oh dear

717
00:44:31,440 --> 00:44:35,599
oh they're not arrived yet during a war

718
00:44:34,000 --> 00:44:37,280
lateness for a meal is not only in

719
00:44:35,599 --> 00:44:38,880
civility but criminal waste

720
00:44:37,280 --> 00:44:40,880
i'm scared of the joint abundant well

721
00:44:38,880 --> 00:44:43,280
i'm bringing it new i will no wait

722
00:44:40,880 --> 00:44:43,280
longer

723
00:44:44,319 --> 00:44:48,240
i'm greatly disappointed in the reverend

724
00:44:46,319 --> 00:44:49,599
harris

725
00:44:48,240 --> 00:44:53,599
what we're about to receive with the

726
00:44:49,599 --> 00:44:53,599
lord make us truly thankful amen

727
00:44:58,400 --> 00:45:05,839
now don't bite this it's macaroni well i

728
00:45:00,319 --> 00:45:05,839
think i should have some excellent

729
00:45:06,360 --> 00:45:11,590
[Music]

730
00:45:13,650 --> 00:45:19,839
[Applause]

731
00:45:16,000 --> 00:45:19,839
hurry up

732
00:45:26,320 --> 00:45:30,370
[Music]

733
00:45:26,950 --> 00:45:30,370
[Applause]

734
00:45:34,710 --> 00:45:37,809
[Applause]

735
00:45:44,880 --> 00:46:01,839
who's that this is

736
00:46:01,920 --> 00:46:06,000
excuse me

737
00:46:03,470 --> 00:46:08,480
[Applause]

738
00:46:06,000 --> 00:46:09,760
good evening my dear you've chosen a

739
00:46:08,480 --> 00:46:12,000
holiday to pay calls

740
00:46:09,760 --> 00:46:13,200
obligations to society take precedence

741
00:46:12,000 --> 00:46:14,319
of the forces of nature

742
00:46:13,200 --> 00:46:16,160
that's rather a compliment

743
00:46:14,319 --> 00:46:17,599
accomplishment was not my intention mr

744
00:46:16,160 --> 00:46:21,280
barnett we waited over an hour

745
00:46:17,599 --> 00:46:23,359
outside a table or a table precisely

746
00:46:21,280 --> 00:46:25,280
he was upset about the joint my concern

747
00:46:23,359 --> 00:46:26,640
had nothing to do with material matters

748
00:46:25,280 --> 00:46:28,880
if you and the reverend harris were

749
00:46:26,640 --> 00:46:30,079
unable to come courtesy demands that a

750
00:46:28,880 --> 00:46:32,319
message should be set

751
00:46:30,079 --> 00:46:33,760
oh then you were expecting us ah you

752
00:46:32,319 --> 00:46:35,839
must have received our invitation

753
00:46:33,760 --> 00:46:37,359
i'm afraid not i had no idea i find it

754
00:46:35,839 --> 00:46:37,680
hard to believe that he failed to convey

755
00:46:37,359 --> 00:46:39,839
it

756
00:46:37,680 --> 00:46:41,920
i'm afraid he did extraordinary oh i

757
00:46:39,839 --> 00:46:43,280
don't know hector if i were your fiance

758
00:46:41,920 --> 00:46:44,800
and hadn't seen you for a long time i'm

759
00:46:43,280 --> 00:46:46,400
sure i'd forget about everything else

760
00:46:44,800 --> 00:46:47,680
perhaps you would explain

761
00:46:46,400 --> 00:46:49,119
well you see immediately after he

762
00:46:47,680 --> 00:46:49,680
arrived he had rather a nasty attack

763
00:46:49,119 --> 00:46:51,680
attack

764
00:46:49,680 --> 00:46:53,520
yes sort of suffocation he wasn't really

765
00:46:51,680 --> 00:46:55,920
able to say anything but he's ill

766
00:46:53,520 --> 00:46:57,440
oh i'm greatly relieved hector well i

767
00:46:55,920 --> 00:46:58,800
placed a room at his disposal

768
00:46:57,440 --> 00:47:01,040
i couldn't understand why he failed to

769
00:46:58,800 --> 00:47:02,480
appear oh but i tucked him up hours ago

770
00:47:01,040 --> 00:47:04,560
with a hot water bottle very sensible

771
00:47:02,480 --> 00:47:06,640
man very embarrassing situation

772
00:47:04,560 --> 00:47:08,400
in the circumstances i'm thinking mrs

773
00:47:06,640 --> 00:47:10,560
matthews had better say the night

774
00:47:08,400 --> 00:47:11,440
shall i goodness no there's not the

775
00:47:10,560 --> 00:47:13,440
least need for that

776
00:47:11,440 --> 00:47:15,440
miss barnett as a minister i am the

777
00:47:13,440 --> 00:47:17,040
better judge in your position

778
00:47:15,440 --> 00:47:18,560
there is always a danger that people

779
00:47:17,040 --> 00:47:19,839
will talk in wartime

780
00:47:18,560 --> 00:47:21,760
oh please don't worry i'm used to

781
00:47:19,839 --> 00:47:23,200
managing things myself or leaving here

782
00:47:21,760 --> 00:47:24,400
my conscience demands that i should

783
00:47:23,200 --> 00:47:25,200
discuss this matter with the reverend

784
00:47:24,400 --> 00:47:27,280
habits

785
00:47:25,200 --> 00:47:28,800
i'm sorry mr matthews but i won't have

786
00:47:27,280 --> 00:47:29,440
him disturbed to satisfy anybody's

787
00:47:28,800 --> 00:47:33,599
conscience

788
00:47:29,440 --> 00:47:35,839
good night then you will

789
00:47:33,599 --> 00:47:37,440
you choose to define me not at all but

790
00:47:35,839 --> 00:47:38,000
this is my house and i please myself in

791
00:47:37,440 --> 00:47:39,599
it we'll see

792
00:47:38,000 --> 00:47:41,200
what the education committee and the

793
00:47:39,599 --> 00:47:43,599
club session will have to say

794
00:47:41,200 --> 00:47:44,720
good night here good night i understand

795
00:47:43,599 --> 00:47:46,160
my dear but he'll be fighting his

796
00:47:44,720 --> 00:47:53,839
conscience the whole night

797
00:47:46,160 --> 00:47:53,839
night good night good night good night

798
00:47:58,490 --> 00:48:05,280
[Applause]

799
00:48:01,440 --> 00:48:07,280
sandwich bay what a hole

800
00:48:05,280 --> 00:48:08,400
should take two hours to each rendezvous

801
00:48:07,280 --> 00:48:10,400
oversir

802
00:48:08,400 --> 00:48:12,480
with 15 u-boats concentrated with orders

803
00:48:10,400 --> 00:48:13,760
not a waste a single torpedo good

804
00:48:12,480 --> 00:48:15,119
we could have bagged a couple of cinches

805
00:48:13,760 --> 00:48:16,559
but for that order tomorrow it's the

806
00:48:15,119 --> 00:48:16,960
same time you will report here to pick

807
00:48:16,559 --> 00:48:19,839
us up

808
00:48:16,960 --> 00:48:21,839
yes sir bad luck missing a fight like

809
00:48:19,839 --> 00:48:24,880
this to play nursemaid to a woman

810
00:48:21,839 --> 00:48:24,880
but your own business

811
00:48:33,040 --> 00:48:36,880
good luck thank you sir

812
00:48:42,160 --> 00:49:03,839
yes sir i nearly forgot

813
00:48:46,079 --> 00:49:03,839
what is it sir what time

814
00:49:04,400 --> 00:49:17,839
sorry come on

815
00:49:28,839 --> 00:49:31,839
hmm

816
00:49:32,480 --> 00:49:36,079
what happened to the message girl oh

817
00:49:34,240 --> 00:49:37,920
it's me never been so cold

818
00:49:36,079 --> 00:49:39,839
must be out of condition damn fellow

819
00:49:37,920 --> 00:49:41,839
left me sitting in my head

820
00:49:39,839 --> 00:49:43,440
it's not our custom to entertain british

821
00:49:41,839 --> 00:49:45,359
naval officers during the war however

822
00:49:43,440 --> 00:49:46,880
useful they may have been

823
00:49:45,359 --> 00:49:48,240
what does it feel like to make history

824
00:49:46,880 --> 00:49:49,520
huh i'll make some coffee to keep our

825
00:49:48,240 --> 00:49:51,280
feet up

826
00:49:49,520 --> 00:49:55,040
don't you keep him up it's been a pretty

827
00:49:51,280 --> 00:49:57,760
strenuous evening time you went to bed

828
00:49:55,040 --> 00:49:59,599
unless you have some way to go supposing

829
00:49:57,760 --> 00:50:01,520
you set as an example

830
00:49:59,599 --> 00:50:03,200
come on have a bit of tech can't you see

831
00:50:01,520 --> 00:50:04,240
we'd like to be together it's only two

832
00:50:03,200 --> 00:50:05,440
hours till dawn

833
00:50:04,240 --> 00:50:07,359
somebody might be wondering what's

834
00:50:05,440 --> 00:50:12,160
become of you

835
00:50:07,359 --> 00:50:13,599
i think i'll have another drink yes too

836
00:50:12,160 --> 00:50:16,960
after all you have the whole day

837
00:50:13,599 --> 00:50:16,960
tomorrow to make your job

838
00:50:20,079 --> 00:50:22,559
good night

839
00:50:23,440 --> 00:50:29,119
persuasive fellow aren't you

840
00:50:26,480 --> 00:50:29,119
sleep well

841
00:50:35,200 --> 00:50:38,960
that's better you didn't give him much

842
00:50:38,079 --> 00:50:40,880
choice did you

843
00:50:38,960 --> 00:50:42,079
oh he's quite happy he has his whiskey

844
00:50:40,880 --> 00:50:43,440
and he's swinging down the lane

845
00:50:42,079 --> 00:50:44,960
confident that you're in love with him

846
00:50:43,440 --> 00:50:46,400
and in one minute i should be swinging

847
00:50:44,960 --> 00:50:47,839
off the bed oh no no no

848
00:50:46,400 --> 00:50:50,160
i want to talk to you and i want that

849
00:50:47,839 --> 00:50:52,079
coffee it's four o'clock

850
00:50:50,160 --> 00:50:53,359
let's talk tomorrow tomorrow can't you

851
00:50:52,079 --> 00:50:54,559
see that an hour like this will never

852
00:50:53,359 --> 00:50:57,520
come again

853
00:50:54,559 --> 00:50:59,280
our job is done and now the submarines

854
00:50:57,520 --> 00:51:00,720
will be waiting in two hours we shall

855
00:50:59,280 --> 00:51:03,839
strike

856
00:51:00,720 --> 00:51:06,800
and in a week you and i will be in keel

857
00:51:03,839 --> 00:51:08,880
how we'll celebrate and then we'll make

858
00:51:06,800 --> 00:51:10,079
a trip to berlin i can see us launching

859
00:51:08,880 --> 00:51:11,440
at the hotel

860
00:51:10,079 --> 00:51:13,440
you'll have the iron crossing your hand

861
00:51:11,440 --> 00:51:15,359
back and you will be the only girl in

862
00:51:13,440 --> 00:51:18,319
berlin

863
00:51:15,359 --> 00:51:18,319
in silk stockings

864
00:51:19,520 --> 00:51:24,480
silk stockings is my cure to go to bed

865
00:51:22,800 --> 00:51:26,720
i have served under many commanders but

866
00:51:24,480 --> 00:51:28,720
none i admire more than you

867
00:51:26,720 --> 00:51:30,000
what will you do when you are home again

868
00:51:28,720 --> 00:51:32,400
you just told me

869
00:51:30,000 --> 00:51:34,079
a trip to berlin lunch at the adlon and

870
00:51:32,400 --> 00:51:36,240
afterbuilding

871
00:51:34,079 --> 00:51:39,520
another job another island another

872
00:51:36,240 --> 00:51:43,520
ashington and another captain hard

873
00:51:39,520 --> 00:51:43,520
perhaps please let me go

874
00:51:43,760 --> 00:51:48,000
commander t don't forget that you have

875
00:51:46,559 --> 00:51:49,680
won a victory

876
00:51:48,000 --> 00:51:51,440
and that a good commander must celebrate

877
00:51:49,680 --> 00:52:05,839
with this man

878
00:51:51,440 --> 00:52:05,839
if i'm in command i ordered let me go

879
00:52:09,320 --> 00:52:44,839
[Music]

880
00:52:40,820 --> 00:52:47,700
[Applause]

881
00:52:44,839 --> 00:52:59,839
so

882
00:52:47,700 --> 00:53:01,920
[Music]

883
00:52:59,839 --> 00:53:01,920
you

884
00:53:04,790 --> 00:53:28,380
[Music]

885
00:53:26,839 --> 00:53:37,229
so

886
00:53:28,380 --> 00:53:37,229
[Music]

887
00:53:40,839 --> 00:53:47,010
uh

888
00:53:42,440 --> 00:53:47,010
[Music]

889
00:53:49,380 --> 00:54:11,530
[Music]

890
00:54:08,839 --> 00:54:14,800
so

891
00:54:11,530 --> 00:54:19,119
[Music]

892
00:54:14,800 --> 00:54:19,119
david david

893
00:54:19,960 --> 00:54:25,839
[Music]

894
00:54:22,839 --> 00:54:25,839
david

895
00:54:27,520 --> 00:54:30,880
that was the worst 10 minutes i've ever

896
00:54:28,960 --> 00:54:39,760
spent me too

897
00:54:30,880 --> 00:54:41,200
it's all over now we are starting

898
00:54:39,760 --> 00:54:43,119
you are a little fool what do you mean

899
00:54:41,200 --> 00:54:46,400
by coming out here without a code

900
00:54:43,119 --> 00:54:50,720
running risks like that where is he

901
00:54:46,400 --> 00:54:50,720
upstairs locked in his room you're a

902
00:54:50,839 --> 00:54:53,839
marvel

903
00:54:57,839 --> 00:55:01,760
special constable bob bratzer you know

904
00:54:59,680 --> 00:55:03,040
who i am you'll come on the black boxer

905
00:55:01,760 --> 00:55:03,680
when the patrol arrives tell them to

906
00:55:03,040 --> 00:55:05,359
stand by

907
00:55:03,680 --> 00:55:07,040
nobody to go in or out where's your arm

908
00:55:05,359 --> 00:55:08,240
lit when i heard there was some german

909
00:55:07,040 --> 00:55:09,440
spies about said i took it off and put

910
00:55:08,240 --> 00:55:11,200
it in my pocket so that i could get

911
00:55:09,440 --> 00:55:21,839
close to them without being recognized

912
00:55:11,200 --> 00:55:21,839
and keep your eye skinned high iso

913
00:55:22,079 --> 00:55:25,680
david you won't have a murres until i

914
00:55:24,319 --> 00:55:26,799
left the house will you give us credit

915
00:55:25,680 --> 00:55:28,720
for a little imagination

916
00:55:26,799 --> 00:55:30,079
besides he's safe enough where he is

917
00:55:28,720 --> 00:55:31,280
couldn't you let him go back to his ship

918
00:55:30,079 --> 00:55:32,880
he would at least have had a fighting

919
00:55:31,280 --> 00:55:34,400
chance to risk it he might have met

920
00:55:32,880 --> 00:55:37,359
someone who knew the real fraud line to

921
00:55:34,400 --> 00:55:39,920
you or the real ashington

922
00:55:37,359 --> 00:55:41,200
hell then what is it the destroyer

923
00:55:39,920 --> 00:55:42,480
flotella

924
00:55:41,200 --> 00:55:44,240
they've been loading up extra depth

925
00:55:42,480 --> 00:55:46,880
charges all night the result of our

926
00:55:44,240 --> 00:55:48,480
midnight labors

927
00:55:46,880 --> 00:55:50,880
in a few hours there won't be any

928
00:55:48,480 --> 00:55:53,280
u-bolts in sandwich bay

929
00:55:50,880 --> 00:56:03,839
just a few spots of grease drifting out

930
00:55:53,280 --> 00:56:03,839
to the north sea

931
00:56:04,480 --> 00:56:10,960
i think i feel rather sick oh yeah

932
00:56:08,160 --> 00:56:10,960
dead bullet this

933
00:56:15,440 --> 00:56:19,200
woman your name will go down in history

934
00:56:21,680 --> 00:56:27,359
i know now

935
00:56:25,520 --> 00:56:28,880
russell upstairs and get you things i'm

936
00:56:27,359 --> 00:56:31,680
taking you straight down to this magnus

937
00:56:28,880 --> 00:56:34,319
she sails in an hour

938
00:56:31,680 --> 00:56:36,319
i haven't got anything on my own

939
00:56:34,319 --> 00:56:45,839
everything i have is underneath

940
00:56:36,319 --> 00:56:45,839
and here we go

941
00:56:50,799 --> 00:56:54,000
i'll be back in half an hour to pull him

942
00:56:52,079 --> 00:56:55,760
in stand by hi isaac

943
00:56:54,000 --> 00:56:57,280
big pardon sir you wouldn't like us to

944
00:56:55,760 --> 00:56:58,799
save you the trouble no

945
00:56:57,280 --> 00:56:59,550
i have personal reasons for doing this

946
00:56:58,799 --> 00:57:05,440
job myself

947
00:56:59,550 --> 00:57:06,880

school room oh promised a hand does the

963
00:57:46,640 --> 00:57:50,400

00:58:07,520 --> 00:58:11,350
two on the road and two the rest of you

972
00:58:09,520 --> 00:58:14,480

973
00:58:11,350 --> 00:58:16,400
[Applause]

974
00:58:14,480 --> 00:58:18,000
keeping close to the wall enter new

975
00:58:16,400 --> 00:58:18,400

976
00:58:18,000 --> 00:58:20,240
shoot

977
00:58:18,400 --> 00:58:21,839
wouldn't you you'll find a padre in the

978
00:58:20,240 --> 00:58:22,880
school room all dressed loose and hold

979
00:58:21,839 --> 00:58:37,839
until i come

980
00:58:22,880 --> 00:58:37,839
you'll be rather annoyed you stay there

981
00:58:42,480 --> 00:58:50,319
captain hot this is commander

982
00:58:43,839 --> 00:58:51,359
blacklocker the royal navy

983
00:58:50,319 --> 00:58:52,559
if you'll throw your gun out of the

984
00:58:51,359 --> 00:58:54,319
window open the door and surrender

985
00:58:52,559 --> 00:58:58,640
you'll be treated as a prisoner of war

986
00:58:54,319 --> 00:58:58,640
otherwise you'll be shot nobody in the

987
00:59:02,839 --> 00:59:05,839
storm

988
00:59:09,680 --> 00:59:23,610
i'm tired of poor devil

989
00:59:19,270 --> 00:59:23,610
[Music]

990
00:59:29,920 --> 00:59:33,040
mr harris come on the black ops was

991
00:59:32,079 --> 00:59:35,520
looking for you sir i'll tell him you

992
00:59:33,040 --> 00:59:35,520
got the boat

993
00:59:40,290 --> 00:59:44,640
[Music]

994
00:59:42,240 --> 00:59:45,760
i asked myself why if everything is as

995
00:59:44,640 --> 00:59:47,280
it should be

996
00:59:45,760 --> 00:59:49,520
i should have been prevented from seeing

997
00:59:47,280 --> 00:59:51,920
the reverend harris well i can tell you

998
00:59:49,520 --> 00:59:53,680
mr harris was tied up in the school room

999
00:59:51,920 --> 00:59:54,960
because he was a nuisance

1000
00:59:53,680 --> 00:59:56,960
you're very lucky not to have suffered

1001
00:59:54,960 --> 00:59:58,160
the same fate you've met commander black

1002
00:59:56,960 --> 01:00:00,720
luck you would have but

1003
00:59:58,160 --> 01:00:01,520
i i cannot pretend to understand well

1004
01:00:00,720 --> 01:00:03,280
i'll help you

1005
01:00:01,520 --> 01:00:04,640
an attempt was made by german spies to

1006
01:00:03,280 --> 01:00:06,079
murder the real miss burnett

1007
01:00:04,640 --> 01:00:08,559
and put one of their women agents in her

1008
01:00:06,079 --> 01:00:10,480
place fortunately it failed

1009
01:00:08,559 --> 01:00:11,920
they dropped her over a cliff but by a

1010
01:00:10,480 --> 01:00:13,119
hundred to one chance a patrol bird

1011
01:00:11,920 --> 01:00:14,400
fished her out

1012
01:00:13,119 --> 01:00:16,000
she was able to tell them enough for our

1013
01:00:14,400 --> 01:00:17,520
chaps to grab the agent the moment she

1014
01:00:16,000 --> 01:00:18,880
showed our nose in thessa

1015
01:00:17,520 --> 01:00:21,200
then someone had the bright idea of

1016
01:00:18,880 --> 01:00:23,040
replacing her with a counter spy

1017
01:00:21,200 --> 01:00:25,280
people short notice but we were lucky to

1018
01:00:23,040 --> 01:00:26,799
find someone brave enough to volunteer

1019
01:00:25,280 --> 01:00:28,880
the young woman that you know is miss

1020
01:00:26,799 --> 01:00:31,040
burnett then the miss burnett at the

1021
01:00:28,880 --> 01:00:32,480
schoolhouse is not the miss barnett who

1022
01:00:31,040 --> 01:00:34,000
should be the schoolhouse

1023
01:00:32,480 --> 01:00:35,839
nor the miss buddy at the german is

1024
01:00:34,000 --> 01:00:37,839
intended to put at the schoolhouse

1025
01:00:35,839 --> 01:00:39,200
in fact she's not misspelling it at all

1026
01:00:37,839 --> 01:00:42,079
substantially correct

1027
01:00:39,200 --> 01:00:43,359
i but then who is she that my dear sir

1028
01:00:42,079 --> 01:00:45,839
comes under the heading of official

1029
01:00:43,359 --> 01:00:45,839
secrets

1030
01:00:49,200 --> 01:00:52,319
what's the matter blackhawk heart sir

1031
01:00:50,799 --> 01:00:52,880
made a breakthrough and got away the

1032
01:00:52,319 --> 01:00:54,079
german

1033
01:00:52,880 --> 01:00:56,640
locked harris in his room and then took

1034
01:00:54,079 --> 01:00:58,640
his clothes excuse me sir

1035
01:00:56,640 --> 01:00:59,839
signals the general cold war units and

1036
01:00:58,640 --> 01:01:02,240
police patrols on the island

1037
01:00:59,839 --> 01:01:11,839
hey you won't get away with it you can't

1038
01:01:02,240 --> 01:01:11,839
do any harm

1039
01:01:13,750 --> 01:01:21,510
[Applause]

1040
01:01:22,839 --> 01:01:25,839
oh

1041
01:01:36,839 --> 01:01:39,839

1045
01:02:10,720 --> 01:02:14,720

1046
01:02:12,160 --> 01:02:17,119

1047

minds

1048
01:02:17,360 --> 01:02:20,079
[Laughter]

1049
01:02:18,960 --> 01:02:22,720

1050
01:02:20,079 --> 01:02:22,720

[Applause]

1062
01:02:56,810 --> 01:03:05,599

i headed over to the patrol there were

1105
01:06:06,880 --> 01:06:09,440
nine of them and only one of me but

1106
01:06:08,079 --> 01:06:10,000
didn't you suspect this passing fellow

1107
01:06:09,440 --> 01:06:11,599
on the pier

1108
01:06:10,000 --> 01:06:12,720

commander ah yes yes yes you've told us

1113
01:06:16,480 --> 01:06:19,599
that before that'll do bob you've got to

1114
01:06:18,319 --> 01:06:20,880
give this fellow heart credits over here

1115
01:06:19,599 --> 01:06:21,520
i'll give him credit having the most

1116
01:06:20,880 --> 01:06:24,799

german officer onsen magnus masquerading

1120
01:06:29,520 --> 01:06:33,119
as parsons stop

1121
01:06:30,880 --> 01:06:34,480
wireless patrols all patrols order some

1122
01:06:33,119 --> 01:06:35,280
magnus to heave two and a weight

1123
01:06:34,480 --> 01:06:43,839

1124
01:06:35,280 --> 01:06:43,839
i'll repeat that back

1125
01:06:44,839 --> 01:06:47,839

1126
01:07:10,000 --> 01:07:14,400

1127
01:07:12,160 --> 01:07:15,680

1128
01:07:14,400 --> 01:07:17,280
from being first-class fighters

1129
01:07:15,680 --> 01:07:20,079
volunteer or should i see mrs bernetto

1130
01:07:17,280 --> 01:07:22,960

so that's one secret you kept waiting

1132
01:07:22,960 --> 01:07:25,119
how considerate

1133
01:07:24,000 --> 01:07:26,799
you may have captured the ship or walker

1134
01:07:25,119 --> 01:07:28,240
will it do you i shall leave course for

1135
01:07:26,799 --> 01:07:29,599
the submarines at sandwich

1136
01:07:28,240 --> 01:07:31,200
but you can't do that you must i am no

1137
01:07:29,599 --> 01:07:32,319
longer under your arse but the whole

1138
01:07:31,200 --> 01:07:34,079
channel is full of minds

1139
01:07:32,319 --> 01:07:35,599
we shall both take our chance this

1140
01:07:34,079 --> 01:07:36,799
doesn't only mean you or me

1141
01:07:35,599 --> 01:07:38,640
quiet eye that means the lives of

1142
01:07:36,799 --> 01:07:39,839
hundreds of my comrades captain heart

1143
01:07:38,640 --> 01:07:41,280
through women and children and ship own

1144
01:07:39,839 --> 01:07:42,240
people their deaths will be at your door

1145
01:07:41,280 --> 01:07:43,839
not mine

1146
01:07:42,240 --> 01:07:45,680
the odd war perhaps you forget that has

1147
01:07:43,839 --> 01:07:47,760
had it for a while you're english i am

1148
01:07:45,680 --> 01:07:57,839
german we are enemies i like that better

1149
01:07:47,760 --> 01:07:57,839
and i it simplifies everything

1150
01:08:08,839 --> 01:08:26,319
yeah now what's the matter

1151
01:08:24,000 --> 01:08:27,679
attention all you are being held as

1152
01:08:26,319 --> 01:08:30,880
prisoners of war

1153
01:08:27,679 --> 01:08:32,710
i want no noise no panic

1154
01:08:30,880 --> 01:08:34,960
anybody who disobeys orders will be shot

1155
01:08:32,710 --> 01:08:39,839
[Music]

1156
01:08:34,960 --> 01:08:39,839
one exception

1157
01:08:42,380 --> 01:08:45,470
[Music]

1158
01:08:47,359 --> 01:08:51,679
a19 a24 and a7s and magnus cited by all

1159
01:08:50,400 --> 01:08:52,319
three patrols she's still on her right

1160
01:08:51,679 --> 01:08:53,759
course sir

1161
01:08:52,319 --> 01:08:56,000
there are eight german prisoners on that

1162
01:08:53,759 --> 01:08:56,960
ship

1163
01:08:56,000 --> 01:08:59,679
yeah what are you doing jessica you

1164
01:08:56,960 --> 01:09:02,319
better go home okay

1165
01:08:59,679 --> 01:09:02,880
if they join forces with a desperate man

1166
01:09:02,319 --> 01:09:07,120
like

1167
01:09:02,880 --> 01:09:10,319
heart message my 17th not cited

1168
01:09:07,120 --> 01:09:13,839
she's have a deal she shaped a different

1169
01:09:10,319 --> 01:09:13,839
course between a7 and a17

1170
01:09:15,199 --> 01:09:22,400
sandwich bear my wife's on that ship

1171
01:09:20,480 --> 01:09:23,920
orderly yes sir i want to see the

1172
01:09:22,400 --> 01:09:26,480
officer commanding the destroyer

1173
01:09:23,920 --> 01:09:26,480
pretty good sir

1174
01:09:28,480 --> 01:09:33,120
i'm sorry black clock i'm afraid you'll

1175
01:09:30,000 --> 01:09:33,120
have to forget personal affairs

1176
01:09:33,199 --> 01:09:38,080
yes sir we believe this in magnets have

1177
01:09:36,799 --> 01:09:40,080
been captured by german prisoners who

1178
01:09:38,080 --> 01:09:41,279
are making a rush for sandwich

1179
01:09:40,080 --> 01:09:43,359
commander black lock will advise you of

1180
01:09:41,279 --> 01:09:46,159
the course likely to be taken you'll go

1181
01:09:43,359 --> 01:09:49,609
after us with a sound and cut her off

1182
01:09:46,159 --> 01:09:55,509
she's to be sunk sir if they won't

1183
01:09:49,609 --> 01:09:55,509
[Applause]

1184
01:10:00,840 --> 01:10:03,840
surrender

1185
01:10:04,800 --> 01:10:07,360
skipper

1186
01:10:12,400 --> 01:10:18,719
are you there walter huh

1187
01:10:16,000 --> 01:10:20,159
look but can i keep up this place much

1188
01:10:18,719 --> 01:10:23,600
longer

1189
01:10:20,159 --> 01:10:26,000
it's murdering my parents

1190
01:10:23,600 --> 01:10:27,840
a fearful pressure is put in my engines

1191
01:10:26,000 --> 01:10:30,880
there's a window that she puts up with

1192
01:10:27,840 --> 01:10:30,880
where have they taken us

1193
01:10:31,520 --> 01:10:35,199
we'll put a patrol waters any minute for

1194
01:10:33,199 --> 01:10:36,000
you already we're all in the hands of

1195
01:10:35,199 --> 01:10:37,840
providence

1196
01:10:36,000 --> 01:10:39,199
no you're not you're on the hands of a

1197
01:10:37,840 --> 01:10:39,840
man who cares nothing for his life or

1198
01:10:39,199 --> 01:10:42,239
yours

1199
01:10:39,840 --> 01:10:43,679
and it's all my fault because i forgot

1200
01:10:42,239 --> 01:10:45,280
we were at war

1201
01:10:43,679 --> 01:10:59,840
forgot the war means that it kills every

1202
01:10:45,280 --> 01:10:59,840
fine decent human feeling

1203
01:11:04,560 --> 01:11:13,840
can you shake her up a bit no she's flat

1204
01:11:06,960 --> 01:11:13,840
out now

1205
01:11:37,440 --> 01:11:41,840
what else

1206
01:11:47,920 --> 01:11:52,080
honey there's no sign of the old tub yet

1207
01:11:50,159 --> 01:11:55,840
perhaps they've altered course again

1208
01:11:52,080 --> 01:11:55,840
not likely

1209
01:11:59,160 --> 01:12:11,040
[Applause]

1210
01:12:07,440 --> 01:12:13,440
have a look felix isn't that this

1211
01:12:11,040 --> 01:12:13,440
magnus

1212
01:12:14,880 --> 01:12:18,560
it's her right what are you doing off

1213
01:12:18,000 --> 01:12:21,120
our court

1214
01:12:18,560 --> 01:12:24,320
looks a bit fishy what a cinch and we've

1215
01:12:21,120 --> 01:12:24,320
got to save all the torpedoes

1216
01:12:24,480 --> 01:12:28,800
nothing in the orders to stop us sending

1217
01:12:25,920 --> 01:12:28,800
off a couple of shells

1218
01:12:29,360 --> 01:12:34,480
stand by the service gun screw

1219
01:12:32,480 --> 01:12:37,840
action stations objective steamship

1220
01:12:34,480 --> 01:12:37,840
short range

1221
01:12:39,780 --> 01:12:48,860
[Applause]

1222
01:12:47,620 --> 01:12:54,680
[Music]

1223
01:12:48,860 --> 01:12:54,680
[Applause]

1224
01:13:02,840 --> 01:13:05,840
english

1225
01:13:09,200 --> 01:13:12,479
[Music]

1226
01:13:16,840 --> 01:13:19,840
um

1227
01:13:43,540 --> 01:13:45,920
[Music]

1228
01:13:44,640 --> 01:14:01,840
there's somebody simplifying from the

1229
01:13:45,920 --> 01:14:01,840
bridge

1230
01:14:06,000 --> 01:14:09,280
there's firing around that headlight

1231
01:14:09,440 --> 01:14:15,840
better take a look there all the course

1232
01:14:11,600 --> 01:14:15,840
number one

1233
01:14:32,480 --> 01:14:43,840
take to the life force

1234
01:14:55,520 --> 01:15:11,840
stop whatever you're doing and come up

1235
01:14:56,880 --> 01:15:11,840
in the deck hurry up

1236
01:15:13,760 --> 01:15:16,400
there she is

1237
01:15:17,280 --> 01:15:22,239
standby connection

1238
01:15:20,200 --> 01:15:25,280
[Music]

1239
01:15:22,239 --> 01:15:27,760

1240
01:15:25,280 --> 01:15:28,320
they've taken to the boat sir captain

1241
01:15:27,760 --> 01:15:30,960

objective suffering

1247
01:15:48,640 --> 01:15:53,840
left charge ready

1248
01:16:07,310 --> 01:16:10,509
[Music]

1249
01:16:35,550 --> 01:16:43,510
[Applause]

1250
01:16:57,520 --> 01:17:03,520
this time you were off let's see you're

1251
01:16:59,280 --> 01:17:08,480
safe in the boat james

1252
01:17:03,520 --> 01:17:17,840
[Applause]

1253
01:17:08,480 --> 01:17:17,840

1259
01:17:41,440 --> 01:17:45,840

1260
01:17:49,810 --> 01:18:13,100
[Applause]

1261
01:18:19,920 --> 01:18:27,840
she's there i can see her

1262
01:18:34,040 --> 01:19:04,140
[Music]

1263
